hitrecordjoe: My dear friend and great mentor, John Lithgow, performs a dramatic (comedic) reading of a politician’s ludicrous-but-real press release on The Colbert Report.  Now THAT’S an actor! If you can’t view the embedded video (like I can’t here in the UK) due to geographic location and silly Viacom internet policies, I was able to watch it HERE.  John Lithgow is an actor’s actor....

hitRECordJoe: A new hevn (audio RECording) →
hitrecordjoe: LISTEN to my audio narration HERE. The rhyming creation myth by wirrow and Metaphorest. I tweaked the words just a little, and my draft of the text is resourced below (and here). And here I recorded a reading of it. There’s already been lots of great readings of this poem, and I hope there…

Charlie Rose v. Mike Huckabee
Mr. Rose: Why don't you just say 'I think that this should be the beginning of an effort to do away with unions for people engaged as public employees.' ?
Mr. Huckabee: I thought I just did.
Mr. Rose: OK, I just wanted you to be more precise about it. You said 'I don't think its not necessary. You didn't say, 'I think this is the way to go...Public officials should not be allowed to belong to a Union...and they should not be allowed...'
Mr. Huckabee: (interrupting)...I think they should be allowed to belong to a Union. They shouldn't strike...and they shouldn't be able to...
Mr. Rose: (interrupting)...If they should belong to a Union, then what would the Union do?
Mr. Huckabee: The Union can help them to...
Mr. Rose: Collective bargaining?
Mr. Huckabee: I don't believe in collective bargaining.
Mr. Rose: They can belong to a Union, but, what? What's the purpose of being in a Union?
Mr. Huckabee: Well, they can at-least pressure. We didn't have Unions for public employees in Arkansas - we had an Association. They were an effective lobbying force.
Mr. Rose: But you just said that its okay for public employees to belong to a Union - that's alright.
Mr. Huckabee: I don't think you can put the government in a hostage situation. You can't hold the services of government for ransom... If you have teachers contracted to teach and they walk away from their classroom...in essence going on strike...and, they sit at the state capitol screaming...I do have a problem with that. Because now you have kids [trailing...] We say 'what's wrong with our education system?' Well, somebody needs to be in the classroom.
